About Me

I've been happily married to my wonderful husband, Marty, since 1985. We have one beautiful daughter, Nichole, who is married to her college sweetheart, Wil. I like to refer to myself as a stay-at-home daughter because I am currently a full-time caretaker for my 90 year old mother-in-law. I love being creative and working in my craft room. One of my most favorite things to do is create custom and/or themed invitations. Other than my crafty side I am also an NRA certified Pistol Instructor. I have a passion for teaching women about firearm usage, safety, and ownership. I am part of The Well Armed Woman...a Nationwide organization geared toward the educating, equipping, and empowering women gun owners.

Happy May Day!

Well, April was quite a month for me...

On April 10, my husband had to call 911 for me due to the worse pain I have ever experienced in my abdomen. I ended up with emergency gall bladder surgery!

Thank goodness that is all over with!

So now I'm playing catch up and posting some recent cards that I have worked on both before and after my surgery.

My first card is from the brand new Hope and Strength Stamp Set...As part of our Making a Difference Program, Stampin' Up is proud to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) int he Strength and Hope Campaign. From May 1-August 31, 2011, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 from the sale of each Strength & Hope Set and Digital Kit to BCRF.

My next two cards were Get Well Cards. Both used stamps from the Four Frames Stamp Set that will be available in the 2011-2012 Catalog coming out on July 1, 2011.

On the following card I also used the new Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper coming out in the new catalog.

The following is the Easter Card that I did. I embossed the image in clear and then sponged ink over it to create the grass and sky...then added the blossom tree and colored in the blossoms.

And last but not least...I recently needed to purchase a new X-Acto knife and decided to use a coupon and purchase a nice set in a wooden box. Well, I decided that the box was too plain so I alter the box using the new Paisley Petals DSP.  I really like the way it turned out!

Well, thats all I have for now. I hoping to get busy and get a lot more posted this month!

Have a great week everyone!
